The Promise of Reconnecting Awaits Us

Plan now to gather together in 2021, here’s why.
If your event, camp, retreat, reunion, wedding or seminar was cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we have some new ideas for you. First, we want to express our sadness to see so many gatherings eliminated from our calendars this year, but we understand this is needed as a community to care for one another.

Reinventing Your Program?
Some summer camps are reinventing their programs by going virtual for youth campers, hosting small groups or offering craft or study lessons online. For the most part though, retreats and reunions are simply being postponed until 2021. The travel industry is indicating a 40% rise in bookings for 2021 over 2019.

We would encourage groups to make plans for 2021 now. We expect, after months of being in isolation, we will be eager to get together with friends, colleagues, and family. Once a vaccine is found and distributed, travel and gatherings will increase and rebound significantly.

We Miss Being Together!
In response to this year, we expect our camp, conference, and retreat centers will be full and bustling with the sounds of people enjoying being together in 2021. Perhaps more people who opted out for the past few years of attending a traditional retreat or conference will elect to join in on these gatherings.

Sojourning Together
This experience of being isolated from our communities has been a true opportunity to being more present to our homes, our families, our shared and inner reactions and expressions as sojourners on this unique and quite unexpected journey. We trust we will want to share our stories and explore the world with elation & enjoyment.

What better way to celebrate our basic freedom to get out into nature with others and relish your community than to plan a family reunion or weekend retreat for your group of friends. This desire to reconnect will also be a wonderful way to promote your traditional camp or retreat.

What We’ve Learned
We would love to host your event at one of our beautiful sites utilizing what we’ve learned, for example:

  • Adding lodging space (more cabins, buildings, or dorm rooms)

  • Adding tables in dining room

  • Additional chairs in meeting rooms

  • 6' spacing marked on floors for food service

  • Option for family style food service instead of buffet

  • Our site staff will work with you to make the space work for your group's needs

  • Sanitation stations

  • Encouraging tent & RV camping at sites that can accommodate

Enjoy nature walks, sharing meals, campfire s’mores, and time to share your journey with your friends, family, companions, and colleagues.

The promise of regrouping and reconnecting await us.
