General Information

About

We offer multiple rooms and areas for group gatherings. Our most significant and most stunning is the Gathering Hall, a 3,000 sf. room that accommodates 15 to 110 participants.

From within this magnificent space, participants enjoy breathtaking views of the San Luis Valley from the western and southern window banks and stunning views of the Sangre de Cristo peaks to the east.

We are located four hours from Denver. Check out our driving instructions and transportation information here.

Accessibility

We offer state-of-the-art hearing-impaired equipment and an elevator in the Gathering Hall, and our lodging is ADA-accessible.

Altitude

We are at an altitude of 8,000 ft. You can prepare by drinking extra water and eating extra carbohydrates.

  • All linens are included.

  • Personal laundry services are available: $15 per mesh bag.

  • Pets are not allowed on the property.

  • Firewood is included for one outdoor campfire. Additional firewood is available for purchase.

  • Our minimum stay is three days with a minimum of 15 people.

    Some rooms have a private bath; others have a shared bath. There are 41 rooms that can sleep 82 guests, plus two 12-person dorms. 

  • Yes.

    We do have a 15-person, 3-night minimum for all events.

  • Yes, you can!

    You may come earlier on the first day or even the night before.

  • The town of Crestone has a number of art galleries and studios. There are also many hiking and mountain biking trails in the region. You can visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park and the Baca National Wildlife Refuge or enjoy time at nearby hot springs. If you want unique there is the Crestone Ziggurat and the UFO Watchtower!

  • The closest airport is in Alamosa, about an hour's drive away. You can also fly into Denver International Airport (about 4 hours) or Colorado Springs Airport (about 3 hours).

  • Yes, you work with the site director to help plan your meals. Vegan/vegetarian options are served at each meal. Each dish is labeled with all known ingredients and allergens. We request a count in advance for the number of omnivores, vegetarians, and vegans and if there are any food allergies or dietary restrictions.

  • No. We recommend that you check with the local airport for rental services.

  • We have limited parking, so we recommend carpooling or renting a van to transport your group.

  • The weather can be warm and sunny during the summer months (June through August). In the winter (December to February), there may be snow. However, come prepared to wear layers, as it might be warm during the day but will cool off at night and in the morning.

  • Bring comfortable hiking shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, layers (the weather can be unpredictable), a water bottle, a camera, cash (some businesses in town don't accept credit cards), slippers, or socks to wear inside the Blazing Mountain buildings - no outside shoes allowed inside, please!

  • Yes.

    Chairs and meditation cushions (zabutons, zafus, gomdens) are provided; we have a few kneeling benches as well.

  • Yes.

    You may have day-use participants. The fee is $25 per person per day, plus the cost of any meals and tax. We request day-use numbers along with overnight guest numbers.
